Barthels Hof was built between 1747 and 1750 by the Leipzig merchant Gottlieb Barthel, making it the last remaining mercantile courtyard from the time of the goods fair in the 18th century. In the courtyard, you can still see the crane beams with which the goods were pulled up into the storeroom in those days.
